Election Day in Long Beach: Vote Centers Open 7 to 8 Across Los Angeles County
Tuesday, Nov. 3 is Election Day. Long Beach voters can vote at any vote center in Los Angeles County, return a mailed ballot by drop box or in person by 8 p.m., or register conditionally the same day.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026, and in Long Beach that means vote centers across Los Angeles County open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Elections here are run by the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk, and under the county's vote-center system, a Long Beach voter is not tied to one neighborhood polling place — any vote center in the county can check in any county voter.
Every active registered voter was mailed a ballot, and that ballot has several ways home. It counts by mail if it is postmarked by Nov. 3 and received by Nov. 10. It can also be returned in person — at any vote center, at an official ballot drop box, or at the county elections office — by 8 p.m. on Election Day. Drop boxes are the fastest errand in the election: no line, no stamp, no postage timing to worry about.
Voters who want to cast a ballot in person, replace a spoiled one, or sort out a registration problem should head to a vote center, where all three happen under one roof. Anyone in line at 8 p.m. when polls close should stay in line. And anyone who missed the Oct. 19 registration deadline still has a path: conditional, same-day registration is available at vote centers and county elections offices through Election Day, letting an eligible voter register and vote in the same visit.
Identification surprises are unlikely. Most California voters are not asked for ID at check-in; only some first-time voters who registered by mail without providing an identification or Social Security number may be asked. Voters should bring their mailed ballot if they plan to vote in person, since surrendering it at check-in speeds the process.
At the top of the ballot, statewide voters are deciding an open race for governor — Gov. Gavin Newsom is term-limited — and choosing every one of California's U.S. House seats. California has no U.S. Senate race in 2026. Long Beach's choices, from Sacramento to the House, are made Tuesday between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. — plan the trip before the day plans it for you.
